They say fun is infectious. That’s one reason why having a job at amusement parks and theme parks is such a blast. Not only do you get to work in a fun-filled fantasy world every day – “I’m getting paid to do this? Really?” – you’re also surrounded by customers and guests who are having the time of their lives.
That makes for an unbeatable atmosphere. Whether you’re working a concessions stand, operating a ride or selling tickets, it’s hard not to be happy in this kind of setting. Seeing kids – and adults – grinning from ear to ear when they meet their favorite character or come off an exhilarating ride is a priceless reward that you can’t find anywhere else.
There’s also a great sense of camaraderie among people who work at theme park jobs, amusement park jobs, water park jobs and others. It takes a lot of teamwork to make the customers’ dreams come true every day, and you’ll be working side-by-side with others who get the same thrill from their job as you do. Many people who work at parks develop strong friendships outside of work, too.
There are currently more than 120,000 people with amusement park jobs, and that number is expected to grow significantly as travel restrictions are lifted. Employers range from massive companies such as Walt Disney and Six Flags to small, privately owned parks around the country.
