The Position:

As an Event Cook, at the Fruitlands Museum you will be responsible for preparing delicious meals for a wide variety of events. The Event Cook will be responsible for prepping and executing high-quality meals that meet the unique needs and preferences of each client. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a creative mindset, and excellent attention to detail. Full-time and part-time hours available in a fun and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare high-quality meals for events of all sizes, from intimate gatherings to large-scale corporate events
Coordinate with other staff members to ensure that all elements of the event, including setup, serving, and cleanup, are executed flawlessly
Ensure that all food is prepared and presented in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines
Supervise and train other kitchen staff, as needed
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including proper storage and labeling of all food items
Ensure that all food waste is minimized and disposed of properly

Requirements:

Cultivate your culinary skills; learn proper knife skills, baking, etc.
Take pride in your job – We use ingredients from our own farm, The Farm at Gibbet Hill and many local vendors.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines.
Ability to drive a 14′ to 16′ box trucks a plus!
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift 30 lbs
