Monterey Peninsula Country Club

This position is responsible for a variety of human resource related tasks that support the daily operations of the HR department. Duties include recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, safety and general administrative responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
  • Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the Club.
  • Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
  • Screens applications and helps selects qualified candidates.
  • Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
  • Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers and directors.
  • Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or human resource director during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Facilitates background and reference checks.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Attends and participates in college job fairs and recruiting sessions.
  • Provide administrative assistance to HR Director, answering and returning phone calls.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Implements and conducts new hire orientation.
  • Assists with development, implementation and execution of employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Leads Club safety program and facilitates monthly meetings.
  • Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
  • Conducts employee training on applicable safety standards.
  • Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
  • Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
  • Drafts and implements internal safety standards and policies.
  • Reviews accidents and incidents reported by employees.
  • Maintains OSHA logs.
  • Post monthly birthday and anniversary list and cards signed by GM.
  • Create reports and analyses using the HRIS, and other software, as required.
  • Partner with HR Director on employee events and programs.
  • Support safe work habits and contributes to a safe working environment at all times.
  • Consistently maintain the ability to come to work regularly and on time.
