Nature's Classroom
Nature’s Classroom is looking for Outdoor Educators for our Spring 2022 season. APPLY NOW if you’re interested in working with kids, being outside, exploring New England, and living with a team of Outdoor Educators! We are hiring educators in MA, NH, ME, and CT!
Residential Program
Instructors deliver residential, 1 to 5 day environmental education programs to 4th – 8th grade students. We focus on social and emotional learning, science and engineering skills, and adventure education. The hands-on lessons focus on building critical thinking skills and exploring the connections between the natural and human-made world. Some of our favorite classes include wilderness survival, wood carving, aquatic biology, forestry, and outdoor cooking! Instructors also facilitate team building (initiatives and low ropes) to develop students’ leadership and problem-solving skills. Instructors are responsible for educating a group of 10-12 students throughout the program, including facilitating day and night lessons, leading large group activities and hosting meals. We are committed to providing the highest quality educational experience to our schools and are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated educators to join our team!
Dates of Employment
Late February/ Mid March – June 10th, 2022
Salary
Starting salary is $95 per day with 5 days of work guaranteed per week (except for a few holidays).
Accommodations
- Seasonal housing will be provided.
- Food is provided when students are on site, and a communal food budget will be provided on weekends.
Desired Experience and Qualifications
- Experience working with elementary and middle school students (especially in an outdoor setting).
- Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19
- Must be 21 yrs or older
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
- Ability to walk/ hike 3-5 miles per day
- Ability to work as part of a team of outdoor educators.
- A passion for outdoor education!
