Snowmachine Guide Level 1 Duties: Lead guests into the wilderness and through our trail systems by safely navigating the terrain and obstacles. Assist drivers with how to operate an ATV or snowmachine, and briefing guests on safety information for all machines. Entertain guests by informing them on the sights they are seeing and fun facts about the area. Answer guest questions. Make judgement calls to maintain the safety of our guests and machines. Wash, dry, fuel, and park ATVs and snowmachines. Perform maintenance on ATV and snowmachine trails. Efficiently pack guide bags and perform regular inventory on fuel levels and consummables. Assist level 2 snowmachine guides with their tour preparations and break down. Lead guests on a variety of tours, including but not limited to: snow coach / Basecamp tank tours, nature walks, short cross country ski tours, and more. Any and all duties as assigned.

*Note: There is a training protocol for each and every tour we offer, and no member of the team is expected to understand how to guide a tour they have not been trained for. *

Job Requirements: The ability to hold a conversation with a stranger for several minutes is a crucial part of this position. Demonstrated experience riding snowmachines, riding ATV’s, and ability to stay calm in an emergency required. Ability to lift snowmachine if it gets stuck. Must be highly personable and willing to provide great customer service. High school diploma or GED preferred, as well as proficiency with a foreign language.  CPR and Wilderness First Aid certified.  Knowledge of Alaskan nature and history and passion for the outdoors preferred. Willingness to work in the outdoors in Arctic climate crucial. Ability to stand on feet for up to 8 hours a day. Any and all duties as assigned.

Starting Pay: $16.00/ hr
